9 Must-Have Tool in Your Homes

Every homeowner should have a DIY toolkit in their homes because then, you don’t have to depend on others for every common repair needed in your homes. What are the tools that you need? Don’t worry, because we at HomeTriangle decided to give you the 9 must-have tools in your house for minor works that might come up. Like we have said multiple times, after all, life is a DIY project.

1. Measuring Tapes

A tape measure is right at the top of the list for almost all the common repair works you need at home, be it replacing an installed appliance or upgrading an entire room. But with everything being digital nowadays, we suggest buying a digital tape measure. Popular digital tape measures available on Flipkart and Amazon extend up to 16 feet and can store measurements in its memory.

2. Claw Hammer

A claw hammer or any hammer is one of the most important tools you’ll need and we believe you probably already own one of these. If not, a claw hammer has one side that is flat and used for pounding, and the other has a V-shaped notch that can help extract nails from surfaces with minimum damage. Go for a claw hammer with a comfortable vibration-dampening coating on the grip and made of materials that can resist harsh weather.

3. Screw Drivers

Another one of the most frequently used tools in any household is a manual screwdriver for assembling furniture, tightening cabinet knobs, and other such tasks. Buy a package with multiple blade tips and sizes that are interchangeable with magnetic hex bits that can be used for a variety of screw heads and sizes. After all, 60 small bits for a single screwdriver takes a lot less space than 60 screwdrivers.

4. Pliers

Pliers are an essential tool because they help hold tiny objects when you need to manipulate them. They can pull, pinch, cut, or even bend metal into shape if enough torque is applied. Ensure that you get a set of pliers for cutting, lineman, slip-joint, needle-nose, and locking pliers to cover all your needs.

5. Wrenches

Wrenches are absolutely necessary for your homes, at least a few adjustable wrenches in different sizes. They can do a lot more than just tighten nuts and bolts. They can pull hard-to-reach nails, pop a lug nut in a pinch, and much more. Check for a version with engraved quick diameter measurements to know exactly what size fastener you’ll need on the spot.

6. Utility Knives

From opening heavy taped bags and boxes to cutting aways carpet edges to scraping away resin or paint keeping a window stuck, a high-quality utility knife can do everything. Buy a knife with a sure grip and lock back features to cut through vinyl backsplash, slash perfect lines in wallpaper, etc.

7. Wire Cutters

A wire cutter comes in various shapes. From lightweight styles to stripper and cutter combinations, these can cut aluminum, copper, brass, iron, and steel when needed. Wire cutters can come in handy during DIY craft projects and electrical repairs. A pair that features a cushioned grip can give you more comfort.

8. Cordless Drill and Drill Bits

If you own one, a cordless drill might be the most used tool in your home. A drill can be useful for a huge range of applications beyond just making holes and driving nails. The drill bits you have is the only limitation of a drill. Ensure you get a good assortment of metal drill bits, wood drill bits, and universal drill bits to cover indoor and outdoor projects. The wireless electric power brings a lot of convenience for quick works in small projects around the house.

9. Staple Gun

A staple gun is great for quick fastening handy jobs such as retaking carpet, securing fabric and installing sheets of insulation, etc. We suggest manual staple guns because they are generally easier to use and a lot less expensive than electric and pneumatic staple guns.
