5 Habits That Will Make Your Life Positive
It's time to find the right balance between running in this fast-paced world & finding time to ourselves for our overall well-being. Here are some tips for it:
Introduction
This era is confusing at times. People have the technology to get food delivered, book online tickets, and have access to information quickly. The primary intention of these was to save our time and increase our productivity. However, even after all these, we have no spare time to spend for ourselves or for our loved ones. The world is moving super-fast and can make us feel exhausted. It will have a toll on our mental health. But realistically speaking, we cannot ignore the benefits technology provides to save our mental health too. It's time to find the right balance between running in this fast-paced world and finding time to ourselves for our overall well-being. And this is why I have bought some tips that can help you improve your daily lifestyle and make your life positive. So, let's get into it.
1) Exercise
Unless you live in a cave, you must know that exercise can not only benefit your physical health but helps in boosting your mental health as well. Several studies have shown the significant impact exercise has on a human's mental health. Fitness professionals suggest we engage in physical activities for at least 30-45 minutes daily. Be it through running, swimming, cycling, heavy lifting in the gym, or brisk walking. When there is regular movement in our body, it promotes our physical & mental health together.
2) Good Food
We live in a fast food culture due to our lifestyle, where 2-minute noodles are more popular than having a banana and a glass of milk. This practice has impacted human health for the worse. It's high time we know that food has the ability to impact our mental health. For example, foods containing sugar and high-glycemic can spike and crash our blood sugar levels which in turn affects our energy & mood. Even if we cannot entirely eliminate sugar or highly processed foods, we can control the consumption and promote eating healthy vegetables & fruits.
3) Me Time
A study states that from the age of 18-27, an individual spends every day around 5 hours by themselves. But we hardly find that time for ourselves. I have heard people complaining about how they never find the time to read a book, watch a movie, or write something they want to. But spending time alone is highly beneficial for your mental health because when you are by yourself, you tend to understand more about certain aspects of life, your decisions, and ultimately yourself. Try to schedule at least one hour daily before going to sleep. Use that hour to watch an episode of your favourite series/sitcom, read a few pages from a book, write a journal, or sit alone and have a quiet time.
4) Spare Time For Love
Humans are social animals, and it is vital to have healthy & strong human connections with one another. Spending an hour or two with the people you love can help you build a positive impact on your brain, thus creating a positive environment in your life. Try to allocate at least 4-5 hours a week for your parents, friends, partners & pets and cherish the quality time you spend with them. As they say, a life that does not impact others' lives is not worth counting.
5) Charity/Volunteer Work
This one is probably the most underrated tip because very few realize the significance of it. I could not find a scientific study to support this statement. But I can say that when you involve yourself in volunteer work or a charity to help the people around you or the environment, you gain a sense of happiness. A kind of happiness you get when you see someone smile after hearing you crack a joke. When you feel someone's life just became a little better because of you, it is rewarding and creates a positive impact within you.
Conclusion
All these tips can help you take care of your mental health and will make your life positive. But it is important to be consistent in following all these tips for the betterment of your well-being.
